Ronachai Krisadaolarn (Ronald Jay Cristal) LLB, JD

Ronachai Krisadaolarn (Ronald Jay Cristal). LLB, JD, was born in Brooklyn, on June 20, 1942 and received his Bachelor of Law (Cum Laude), and Juris Doctorate (Cum Laude) degrees from Union University, Albany Law School. He is admitted to the New York and Guam Bars. From 1969, he was a US Air Force Judge Advocate at Ubol Royal Thai Air Force Base, and from 1972-73 he was head of the US Air Force Foreign Claims Commission stationed at U-Tapao Royal Thai Naval Air Station. From 1979 to 1988, he was the Managing Director of Leo Trustee Company Limited and in this capacity, at a royal audience, personally petitioned H.M. the Queen to establish a foundation to pay for operations for the semi blind. From 1985 onwards, he was a lecturer at Bangkok University in the MBA Program on the subjects of Business Law and Managerial Decisions, and Money and Capital Markets.

In 1988, he was appointed Managing Director of Freehills’ Thailand office, subsequently renamed Bangkok International Associates, a position he still holds today. He is a director of many Thai companies and charitable associations. He has written many of the previous editions of the BIA Thailand Legal and Business Guide, as well as writing articles and giving seminars in Thailand, Singapore and Australia on numerous areas of Thai law, including: Land, Buildings & Condominiums; the Foreign Business Act; Business Promotion Incentives; Corporate Taxation, Nationality, Negotiable Instruments, and other subjects. He specializes in corporate and commercial law, joint ventures, M & A, banking, taxation, commercial and residential property and nationality.

He is internationally recognized as an expert on Thai coinage and medals. He was the Editor of the English Language editions of Coins of Rattanakosin and Medals of Rattanakosin, Thai Treasury Department, 1982, a set of which was personally presented to H.M. King Bhumibol. He edited the English language version of The Centennial of Thai Banknotes, published by the Bank of Thailand. He has twice lectured at the Thai National Museum on Siamese coinage. He attended the official opening of the Royal Thai Mint in 2003 and exhibited a selection from his coin collection at the opening ceremony. Peter C. Church OAM, B.Com, LLB, LLM

Peter C. Church OAM, B.Com, LLB, LLM was born in 1950 in Sydney, Australia and received the following degrees: Bachelor of Commerce (University of New South Wales), Bachelor of Laws (University of Sydney) and Master of Laws (University of London). He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia by the Australian Government in 1994 for services promoting business between Australia and South East Asia.

He has over 25 years' experience as a lawyer working and living throughout South East Asia and India. For several years, he was Regional Managing Partner of Freehills. His areas of specialization include foreign investment throughout South East Asia. He has written: Added Value, a biographical study of 69 leading South East Asian businessmen and women (published Murmeli, 1999); the Myanmar Business Guide, (published by Bangkok International Associates and Asean Focus Group, 1993) and A Short History of South East Asia (3rd edition 2003, published by Wiley and Sons)

He is currently resident in Australia where he is Chairman of Asean Focus Group (www.aseanfocus.com). He is Chairman of Bangkok International Associates and travels regularly to Thailand. He is also Special Counsel to Blake Dawson Waldron.

Stephen Frost

Stephen Frost was born in 1952 in Hertfordshire, England. He was educated at the College of Law, London, and qualified as a solicitor in the UK. He has lived in Thailand for many years. He previously worked with Lovells, Mongkolnavin Law Office and First Bangkok Law & Practice. He specializes in banking and security, corporate and commercial law, M & A, joint ventures, debt restructuring, commercial and residential property, employment, and telecommunications, IT and e-commerce. He has been involved in many international takeover transactions in a diverse range of industries, and cross border loan transactions and security.

He has written and lectured in Thailand and overseas on many aspects of Thai law, including: doing business in Thailand, foreign business ownership, foreign property ownership, international loan transactions, joint ventures, cross border lending and security, tax on M & A transactions, unfair contract terms, property, employment, retailing, reorganization proceedings, and telecommunications, IT and e-commerce. He is a board member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, and the Property and Infrastructure Sub-committee, and writes regularly for the chamber website and magazine. He also writes for Asia Watch and Asia Staff magazines. He is also a member of the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand Committee on the Foreign Business Act. He wrote the Thailand section in two encyclopaedias: Employment Law Asia and Financial Reporting Asia Pacific and the Thailand chapter in books on telecommunications, equity markets and defamation. He has been editor of the Thailand Business and Legal Guide published on the BIA website since 2003. He lectures at meetings of Asia Business Forum and Dataconsult Thailand, and also to final year law undergraduates at Chulalongkorn University.

Kasama Jirananda, LLB

Kasama Jirananda, LLB. was born in 1957 in Bangkok. She received her Bachelor of Law degree from Ramkhamhaeng University in 1985 and a Graduate Diploma in Business Law from Thammasat University in 1989. She commenced her career with Tilleke & Gibbins, where she remained for many years. She is a founding member of Bangkok International Associates and specializes in corporate and commercial law, joint ventures, taxation, labor law and immigration law.

Sompol Piromyothee, LLB

Sompol Piromyothee, LLB was born in 1949 in Bangkok. He holds a law degree from Sukothai Thammathirat University. He joined the firm of Krueger & Associates in 1973, which later merged with Quasha Law Office. After work experience overseas, he joined the firm of Tilleke & Gibbins,. He is a founding member of Bangkok International Associates and specializes in corporate and commercial law.

Withaya Kijjavijitr, LLB

Withaya Kijjavijitr, LLB was born in Bangkok in 1964. He received his Bachelor of Law degree from Ramkhamhaeng University and an Advanced Certificate in Computing & Information Processing from Alexander College in Perth, Australia. He was employed by Kanematsu Corporation, before joining Bangkok International Associates. He specializes in corporate law and commercial law and litigation.

Damrong Manosak, LLB

Damrong Manosak, LLB was born in Chiang Mai in 1968. He obtained a diploma from Silom Commercial School and a Bachelor of Law degree from Bangkok University. He worked with Advance Adjusting Associates from 1986-1991. He then joined Bangkok International Associates. He specializes in corporate and commercial law.

Sathien (Dennis) Hemsin

Sathien (Dennis) Hemsin was born in 1978 in Bangkok. He received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales in 1999 and his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Sydney in 2002. He is admitted as a solicitor in the state of New South Wales, Australia and is a member of the New South Wales Law Society. He previously worked for Baker and McKenzie in Bangkok in mergers and acquisitions, and real estate. He has been involved in various acquisitions of hotels, resorts, condominiums, office buildings, and property funds in Thailand, and many hotel and residential development projects. He has written various articles on property law in Thailand and is a member of the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce. He is fluent in French, Thai and English. He specializes in corporate and commercial law, joint ventures, investment law, real estate, land development, hotel/resort and condominium law, and property funds.

He joined Bangkok International Associates in 2007.

Charntis Nilphoe, LLB

Charntis Nilphoe was born in 1971 in Bangkok. He received his Bachelor of Law degree from Ramkhamhaeng University in 1995 and was admitted as a lawyer in 1997. He previously worked as an in-house lawyer at Singer (Thailand) Public Company Limited for many years. He specializes in labour law, and general civil and criminal litigation.

He joined Bangkok International Associates in 2008.

Teerakarn Noichiaum, LLB

Teerakarn Noichiaum was born in 1978 in Bangkok. He received his Bachelor of Law degree from Ramkhamhaeng University. He previously worked for the Tax Research Center and Baker Tilly Tax in Bangkok. He has written various articles on taxation. He specializes in general contract drafting, banking and finance including derivatives, and taxation.

He joined Bangkok International Associates in 2008.

Somjai Suthikunkarn

Somjai Suthikunkarn was born in 1960 in Bangkok. She graduateed with a degree in Business Administration majoring in Accounting from Ramkhamhaeng University in 1984. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and Auditors of Thailand and a registered accountant. She is the Accounting and Finance Manager of Bangkok International Associates.

Woralak Chawangul

Woralak Chawangul was born in 1955 in Trang. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Ramkhamhaeng University. She joined Bangkok International Associates in 1982. She was appointed office manager in 1990.

Nilnapa Singha

Nilnapa Singha was born in 1967 in Lampang. She graduated with a degree in Mass Communications majoring in Journalism from Chiang Mai University in 1988 and obtained a Master of Business Administration degree from Ramkhamhaeng University in 1999. From 1995-2002, she was Assistant to the Industrial Complex General Manager, Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited. In 2003 she was appointed Project Document Controller for the Construction of the Passenger Terminal Complex at Suvarnabhumi Airport. She joined Bangkok International Associates in 2006 as a paralegal.

Puttri Kuvanonda, LLB

Puttri Kuvanonda, LLB was born in 1946 in Bangkok. He graduated from Thammasat University with a Bachelor of Law degree in 1969. From 1969 - 1984 he was an attorney with the Bangkok firm of Tilleke & Gibbins. In 1984, he founded with others the law firm of Siam Legal Associates, now known as Bangkok Legal Associates. Mr. Puttri is attorney of confidence to the German and Italian embassies in Bangkok. He specializes in commercial law and civil and criminal litigation.

Voratham Jirananda, LLB was born in 1949 in Bangkok. He received his Bachelor of Law degree from Thammasat University in 1971 and was admitted to the Thai Bar in 1972. From 1971-1986, he was an attorney with the Bangkok firm of Tilleke & Gibbins. In 1986, he joined Bangkok Legal Associates. He specializes in commercial law and litigation.

William F. White

William F. White was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Logan College and his Juris Doctorate degree from St. Louis University School of Law. He is admitted to the Missouri and Colorado Bars and is admitted to practice in the Federal Courts. From 1994-1998, he was principal of White Law Offices, practicing in United States immigration law and civil and commercial litigation. From 1998 until 2005, he was a Senior Partner of White & White LLC in St. Louis, Missouri, specializing in United States immigration law and civil and commercial litigation. From 2002 until the present, he was also Managing Director of White & White (Thailand) Ltd., in Bangkok, providing legal consultancy in both United States immigration law and international commercial matters.

The focus of his practice is on United States immigration law and commercial matters in the Pacific Rim countries, with special emphasis on South East Asia. He is based in Bangkok Thailand but travels frequently to other Asian countries and the United States in connection with his legal practice.
