Biography
Stephen Frost was educated at the College of Law in London, after which he qualified as a UK solicitor. He has worked in Thailand for over 30 years. He specialises in corporate and commercial, company takeovers, due diligence and banking and security. He has been involved in many international takeover transactions in a wide range of industries, and cross border loan transactions and security.
He has written and lectured in Thailand and overseas on many subjects, including: doing business in Thailand, foreign business ownership, foreign land ownership, international loan transactions, joint ventures, cross border lending and security, property, employment and related areas.
He was previously a director of the British Chamber of Commerce for many years, and is currently the chair of the BCCT Legal and Taxation Group.
He has written over 150 articles on Thai law, and the Thailand chapter in 11 books, on inter alia: companies and partnerships, employment, financial reporting, telecommunications, equity markets, defamation, trade competition and monopolies, wills and probate and international commercial litigation. He wrote and periodically updated the Thailand Business and Legal Guide for many years. This is a 100,000 word guide in 28 chapters to Thai laws and taxation written in English, and aimed at companies doing business and and investors in Thailand. In the past, has has lectured at meetings of Asia Business Forum and Dataconsult, and to final year law students at Chulalongkorn University.
He worked at BIA during 2003-2020 and rejoined the firm in 2025.
